The awaited reissue of Yuji Takahashi's 1977 live album!
This album captures the live recording of YUJI TAKAHASHI plays J.S.BACH & J.CAGE, held on May 30, 1974, at Kanagawakenritsu-Ongakudo. Originally released as an LP in 1977, it has now been revived on CD and digital formats. The Cage pieces include Cheap Imitation, created through chance operations; Metamorphosis, an early work based on serial techniques; and The Seasons, a ballet score choreographed by Merce Cunningham that expresses traditional Indian concepts of the seasons. In Bach’s Toccata No. 2 in C minor, Takahashi employs two different tempos, creating striking contrasts in the musical expression. At the time of the recording, Yuji Takahashi was 35 years old. This album showcases his unparalleled, harp and dynamic performance, sure to captivate listeners.
